§6 Granting of Usage and Exploitation Rights and Reproductions

1. The use of object photographs and media may be requested from the Municipal Museums of Hanau. The decision on the granting of rights lies solely with the Municipal Museums of Hanau. A separate written agreement is concluded for any permitted use.
2. Rights of use for scientific purposes are granted free of charge, provided that no third-party rights are affected.
3. Fees may be charged for processing the request and for providing data.
4. Fees for commercial uses follow the currently applicable standard market rates for image licensing defined by the German Mittelstandsgemeinschaft Foto-Marketing (mfm).

§7 Publications Related to the Municipal Museums of Hanau

1. Any publications referring to the Municipal Museums of Hanau—such as film and photo recordings on the premises, publications, or depictions of objects held or cared for by the Museums, including long-term loans—must include an appropriate credit line referring to the Municipal Museums of Hanau and, where applicable, the legal owner. The wording will be specified in the respective authorization issued by the Museums.
2. Any resulting publication media must be submitted free of charge to the Municipal Museums of Hanau within three months of first publication, either electronically or as physical deposit copies, including for any affected third parties.

 Additional provisions

1. The applicant confirms the accuracy of all information provided in the application form and acknowledges the individually prepared service description including the associated usage conditions. Any changes must be reported without delay; failure to do so may result in cancellation of the agreement.
2. Media provided by the Municipal Museums of Hanau may only be used in a lawful manner and strictly for the previously specified purpose, period, and scope.
   Any further use (e.g. reprint, new edition, other publication, reproduction, distribution to third parties) requires renewed authorization.
3. Media or objects supplied for use must be handled with care. Unless otherwise agreed, they may not be altered or manipulated. They must be stored in such a manner as to prevent unauthorized access. Any physical objects provided must be returned unsolicited and on time; the applicant bears the risk of return shipment.
4. Users are solely responsible for clearing any third-party rights associated with the media (in particular: copyright, related rights, and personal rights). They must obtain all necessary rights independently and bear exclusive liability for any resulting claims. The Municipal Museums of Hanau assume no liability or warranty for the rights-clearance status of the provided media.
